Abstract

China first open-source agent interconnection protocol family aligned with the national standard series Artificial Intelligence — Agent Interconnection (GB/Z 185 / AIP), developed by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and adopted by the China Electronics Standardization Institute as the basis of the AIP national-standard open-source community. Licensed under the Mulan PSL, so enterprises may build commercial versions free of charge. The family is organized into four modules: identity and trust, capability catalogue, task flow, and runtime observability, with a "layered multi-centre" architecture in which each autonomous domain runs its own registry, credential-management and discovery servers, and domains interoperate through inter-domain management nodes, yielding macro-level decentralization while preserving each party autonomy. Security rests on AIC (an OID-based agent identity code), mTLS for mutual certificate verification, and Ed25519 signatures. The v2.2.0 release (August 2026) adds the AMP monitoring protocol (six log classes; a monitor-server consuming Kafka audit topics with signature verification and chained hashing), the AAC access-control specification unifying subject expressions across humans, agents and service accounts, OIDC-based user-to-agent identity binding with delegation chains, strengthened senderId/AIC consistency checks in streaming and notification modes, Ed25519 as the default algorithm, an aliveMap liveness view in discovery, and Ansible-based image/host deployment with independent day-2 operations playbooks. Design philosophy is functional abstraction rather than entity binding, letting vendors choose centralized, layered or distributed implementations.
